If you have always wanted to learn to write or paint or felt but just didn’t think you could do it, now is the perfect time to start. First Strokes is a series of 4 different classes taught by serious artistic talents who remember how beginner status felt. They will provide all the materials you need, incredibly awesome and inspirational settings in the Catskill Mountains, and all the support you need to make you feel comfortable with that brush, pen, or wool. Pick a participating hotel and come on up — alone or with a friend. We’ll fill your getaway with information and conversation about the beauty, history, and culture of Rip Van Winkle’s Catskills. For those who want to tag along and don’t want to join in the classes, downhill and cross-country skiing,, tsnow tubing and all other manner of leisurely pursuits can be arranged. After class or in your spare time, fine restaurants, great spas, and local museums and galleries will call to you for attention.
